It's a Choice

I am going to begin the countdown of days for my stay here in the company I work with. I will be going home to continue the education I left last 2005. This is a matter of choice, a rather one-sided decision of mine. A choice between staying here in Manila to serve Sitel or to go back to Kalinga and finish college. Deym, I should have graduated a long time ago.

This is something that I've been planning a long time ago, and could have done a long time ago; but there have been a lot of factors that crossed my path that had me kept my job instead. Friends, money, and being independent are just some of them. But this time they will be treasured and never be forgotten.

I know I will be going back to my hometown; but it's not same place that I've left before... well it's not really 'left' as in I've never returned, I always had some vacation though. Tabuk is a city now. There were lots of changes especially about infrastructures. Kalinga province is fast-progressing now, I think the public servants are better these days... hopefully.

So, this would be the beginning of the countdown.

Along came the spider, there goes the spider.

The dust and the wind are my companions, the end of the Earth is my home.

I will be going back to my beloved homeland today. Kalinga here I come.

iKALINGA T-Shirts and the Ullalim Festival

I congratulate my fellow iKalingas for having a successful Ullalim Festival for this year and hopefully we will be having a better celebration next year.

Though I was not able to go home, again, to witness the entire festival I still managed to get updates from my friends and siblings there in our province. As for my merchandise, the iKALINGA t-shirts, I could say that its market was OK. I want to thank those people who bought their own shirts; and also to those who had come to know it.

iKALINGA T-Shirts is now on sale!

The Kalinga Day (Ullalim Festival) celebration opened today; too bad for me I cannot be there. I always wanted to participate for the activities there; like the street dancing, join my tribe play the gongs. Anyways, I'm proud to be a Kalinga and am very thankful to all those people who had made the Ullalim Festival as good as it gets.

On the other hand, the iKALINGAt-shirts that I've designed is now on sale there in the trade-fair area. So go and grab yours now.

No Leaves for Kalinga Day

I'm so disappointed and sad for the leave that I filed for the Kalinga Day (Ullalim Festival) was not approved. Sigh!

Nevertheless, I would still have to sell my iKALINGA t-shirts. So, hopefully, my merchandise will all be sold-out.

Kalinga Day | Valentine's Day

The Ullalim Festival (Kalinga Day) is fast approaching and yet my filed leave is not yet approved. I'm thinking that there's a slight chance that it would be approved since there are a lot of agents that filed their own leaves as well for that week (Feb 14-20) not because they will attend the Kalinga Day celebration but to have their own dates, it's Valentine's Day! Ouch!

Though my filed leave may not be approved I will still try to figure out a way to go home; attend the festival and of course to sell my merchandise, the iKALINGA t-shirts.

Blessed

I was able to talk to my grandma earlier over the phone; she wasn't talking back though. I've told her again that if she needs to go now it'll be OK for me. We can take of ourselves already. GOD and my mother, maybe, is waiting for her.

Grandma has been with us ever since my parents got married. She'd been taking care of us for the rest of our lives.She, maybe, had done more than what other grandmothers could do; there are a lot of things she did that it would make a book.

As I was talking to her earlier I felt that she wants to talk to me. My sister, who was holding the phone, told me that grandma is trying to open her mouth to say somethings, she was even trying to move her fingers; I cried knowing that. My siblings and our relatives had even talked to her; they had given her their blessings; but grandma seems to be still fighting for her life. Maybe she doesn't want to leave us yet knowing that she had been telling me before that if she'll meet death she preferred to be buried in her native land, Pantikian (Balbalan). Was it too early to tell?

iKALINGA Shirts on Kalinga Day

Earlier this morning I've been thinking if I'm going to push thru my plans of selling iKALINGA shirts this coming Ullalim Festival (Kalinga Day); what was holding my decision to do so was the approval of my requested vacation leaves (VL). Sigh. It's really hard for us, here in the office, to get our VLs approved these days.

After some 'random thoughts' I have decided (100%) to sell those iKALINGA shirts; anyways there is already a trade-booth reserved for us. That's the good thing.

Kalinga Day Celebration v2

The Ullalim Festival (Kalinga Day) would be less than 30 days from now. I'm somewhat excited to be a part of it after a long time. I'm still hoping that my vacation leave would be approved. Sigh.

I want to watch the different Kalinga sub-tribes show their performances. The "sound of the gong"! Whew! It's been a long time since I last saw a sub-tribe perform that. Hopefully I can perform too; the last time I played the gong was about 6 years ago.

Kalinga Day Celebration

The Kalinga Foundation Day (Ullalim Festival) is again approaching, it would happen this coming February and I'm excited to attend the celebration along with the iKalingas (and with the other tribes).

The last time I was not able to attend the Ullalim Festival due to my schedule, hopefully this time my filed vacation leaves would be approved. I have plans also to join the trade fair and sell my own merchandise (t-shirts and modern bongors). Watch out!

Streamers full of faces anyone?

I really don't like seeing streamers showing a person's face more visible than that what it is really for. They are all around the metro, and recently I observed that they are also present in the provinces. Well, of course now that we are near the 2010 elections it is but normal to see the posters, billboards and streamers of those political-aspirants running for office. But how about a poster(or streamer) that is supposed to be for the March Fire Prevention Month but 90% of the poster is the face of the person who is supposedly the one 'promoting' such 'activity'? Most, if not all, of these people are politicians. Come on! Spread the message not your face!

When I went home to the province (Kalinga) I noticed these streamers all around and most of them is to greet everybody a "Merry Christmas", "Happy New Year", or "Happy Holidays"; but again the message occupied only a part of the poster/streamer, all faces! Also, I noticed these two 'T-frame' posts in Bulanao and both have different streamers hanging; I wasn't able to help myself but react about it. Are those posts really for streamers of these political-aspirants? I thought they are for welcoming people. Please, it's not god to the eye to see those hanging streamers especially if they are on the middle of the highway. Try to put something better in there, something that would make us proud.

Blogging Mode

Just arrived this morning from the province, had my New Year celebration there with my family and also with Kim and her family. 4 days of 'vacation' in my beloved Kalinga is just short, very short, I wish it could be longer.

Anyways, Happy New Year to everybody and I hope you had enjoyed 2009 as we start 2010. Also, I'm back on my blogging and money-making mode.

Going home...
