I was able to talk to my grandma earlier over the phone; she wasn't talking back though. I've told her again that if she needs to go now it'll be OK for me. We can take of ourselves already. GOD and my mother, maybe, is waiting for her.
Grandma has been with us ever since my parents got married. She'd been taking care of us for the rest of our lives. She, maybe, had done more than what other grandmothers could do; there are a lot of things she did that it would make a book.
As I was talking to her earlier I felt that she wants to talk to me. My sister, who was holding the phone, told me that grandma is trying to open her mouth to say somethings, she was even trying to move her fingers; I cried knowing that. My siblings and our relatives had even talked to her; they had given her their blessings; but grandma seems to be still fighting for her life. Maybe she doesn't want to leave us yet knowing that she had been telling me before that if she'll meet death she preferred to be buried in her native land, Pantikian (Balbalan). Was it too early to tell?

I love her so much...

As I'm making this post I'm holding my tears from flowing, I'm trying to compose myself and not to over react to what's happening in the province as of the moment. Even though how much I try to hide my sadness my heart can never do, it's hurting.
Today is the 6th-year death anniversary of my beloved mother, I've missed her so much. But that's not what is making me so sad right now. It's the situation where my family's at right now; especially my grandmother who is very much sick and dying.
My grandma, Carmen Lucob, is 90 years old now. She had been strong for the past 89 years of her life, not until for the past few months when her sickness begun to show itself, overcoming the strength of my lola; she couldn't hide it anymore though she's fighting for it. The major diagnosis that her doctors had informed us is that she is suffering from congestive heart failure. Her heart is having difficulty pumping blood to her system.
I was informed by my sister earlier that my grandma's been breathing slow already. She cannot talk. She can hardly mover her body. She can hardly see for her eyes had bulged. She's in vain.
I told them to pray. God that holds her life; if He wills for it, there's nothing we can do. I thought, whatever happens to her God will always be there. My mother, her own daughter, will also be there.
The Lord knows what's best for my grandma, what's best for us.
I love her so much that it makes me sad knowing how she is. I love her so much that as much as possible I don't want her to leave the world. I love her so much that I would definitely take responsibility of having the burden of her sickness, exchange places with her. I lover so much that I want her to be happy forever.
She loves us too, so much.

Medical City.. again..
I've put on my last post an information about the young actress Angelica Panganiban being rushed to Medical City due to abdominal pain and discomfort and after some diagnosis the doctors claimed that it is more on her (Ms. Panganiban) appendix.
However, after a day of staying there in the hospital another series of tests had been done and now the doctors had retracted their previous claim about possible appendicitis and now they are saying that the actress' appendix is clear and OK.
How about that?
How come that Medical City had done that to Ms. Panganiban and not to Ms. Caluza?

Robbery | Murder | Greed | Reputation (cont.)
After numerous diagnosis and medicines, the doctors decided to do operation again. This time they are going to check her digestive system. So she and the family decided to comply. She was operated.
They were able to see that her intestines failed.
The doctors claimed they were able to clean and removed dirt from Roseville's intestines. The family was informed that she's going to be fine and she should recover soon. False hope.
After several hours my friend's system begun to weaken. She tried to fight for her life. She tried...
What happened to the 'best' doctors of Medical City?
What happened to their expensive and hi-tech medical machines?
What happened to Roseville?
Something could have been done if, at the first place, the endoscopy procedure being requested by Roseville was considered by the doctors. It's her instinct; but denied. Poor Roseville.
The reputation of Medical City as a good institution is still there because it is being covered by their facilities, by their high-rising buildings. But here's what can I say, why not try to check their mortality rate?
The latest one that I know is the "Master Rapper" Francis Magalona. You know one thing I've observed, the C.O.D (cause-of-death) of Francis M. and Roseville is somewhat close to the same; 'multiple organ malfunction'. Whatta!
Well, I have to end this now but before I'll do that I want to share a news that I've watched last night. The young actress Angelica Panganiban was rushed to (guess what?) Medical City for she was feeling pain and discomfort on her abdominal part. What Ms. Panganiban thought is that it is just a Dysmenorrhea but after several tests and diagnosis the doctors from Medical City ruled that, 80% sure, it is her appendix that is having a problem.
And that was all they wrote.

System down...
I was not able to go to the hospital to have my follow-up checkup. I spent most of the time during my 2-days-off fixing the desktop PC at home; I wasn't successful though. Too bad.
For the past few days the computer had been showing a blue-screen error and it kept on restarting. I've seen physical memory dump errors, .dll errors, the IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal error, and others. I decided to format the harddrive and reinstall Windows XP however during the installation the computer was still showing errors. I have also tried another hard disk drive (HDD) hoping that everything will be OK but, still, the installation failed.
On Friday I acted as a computer technician; opened the tower and started doing some internal operations. Don this, done that... to no avail. The problem got worse, the computer now is showing a blank display. Arrggh! I slept with a headache; also decided to let it be checked by a 'real' technician.
On Saturday I brought the unit to a nearby computer repair shop. For about two long hours, the two technicians that diagnosed the computer were about to give-up already, I was just waiting for their suggestions. I was actually thinking that it could be a motherboard malfunction. However, we were still hoping that it might be something else besides from the main board. Until they tried replacing the CMOS battery and poof! The unit turned on with a display. The Windows XP installation went thru just fine. I was thankful and shelled out some cash for the repair. I was also advised that I should change the power supply for it may fail anytime. Yeah!
At home, I set-up the internet so that my girlfriend could start sending her several online applications. After browsing for about an hour she called me out, the system restarted again!!! Whatta! Another blue screen. After restarting and used it again for several minutes the computer is rebooting again! Blue screen after blue screen! Busted.
This morning, I've tried turning on the computer again and it was OK; I immediately downloaded and installed BIOS updates. Hoping that it will be fine now, we started surfing the net again; after 10 minutes it went off! Not good; it was worse. So frustrated about it but frustration will not fix the problem. I had some options for it now, it's either I will be replacing the main board or buy another unit; but before doing one of those I will try to change the power supply first. Hmmmm...
I have to grab a coffee first, it's getting cold in here.

Little things can be big. What?

Been a while, three days without a post. Arrggh!
I was not able to report to work last thursday for my right pinkie finger had an infection and it had shown signs of edema. It all started with a small wound that I acquired about 2 weeks ago; it's so small that I ignored it. Not until last thursday morning that it had shown what it is capable of doing to conquer and destroy my immune system, my health. The images above will show how it looked like that morning. When my girlfriend saw it she immediately suggested that we will go to a doctor to let it be diagnosed before it will get worse. The swelling was reaching the carpal area. So we did go to see a physician. We went to St. Luke's Medical Center.
When the doctor saw what happened to my poor finger she asked me when did I acquire the wound. When I said more than a week ago she told me why only now that I'm going to see a physician for it. It looked like it's a serious case. The physician had informed me that it would be better for me to take oral medications already, not external application, for the infection is getting worse. She had prescribed me a branded anti-biotic for she claimed that it's better than the generic ones. She had also let my finger be X-rayed and requested for a complete blood count (CBC). I didn't expect that I would have to do all those things; but I did. It's good that I have a Maxicare health insurance; I didn't have to shell out some cash to pay for the consultation and laboratory procedures knowing that it's expensive for anything at St. Luke's.
Well, I shelled out some cash though in buying those prescribed medicines. We were shocked when we compared the price of the branded anti-biotics from the price of the generic, it's somewhat doubled. I did not worry about the price of the medicines, I worried about what my finger had. I worried about the infection of the wound. I worried about my immune system that it cannot fight the infection. I can always reimburse what I paid for the medicines though.
It's actually the fourth day for me to be taking in those anti-biotics. The dosage? One capsule every six hours for seven days. My finger is doing fine now. The edema is not their anymore. The wound is drying, healing. However, I still have to complete the seven-days dosage of medication; it's required.
What I learned about this experience is that for us not to underestimate little things, especially when it comes to our health, for little things can cause big effects. In health problems, if the means are available then get hold of them, maximize their usage if possible. Health is wealth remember that.

Still not feeling well...
I'm still not feeling well...
Last night, before going to bed, I had taken in medication for my colds hoping that when I wake up it will be a good day for me; I mean this common illness will go away. I was wrong.
When I woke up this morning I felt like my body is very tired and my head is heavy that I can hardly get out of bed. My nose is still clogged up to now; in fact I have a big roll of tissue with me to use. My voice is husky and that I am feeling irritation in my throat everytime I talk. I swear it is affecting my performance in work. What is happening with my health?
I have a health problem now, the weather is bad that I think it's going to rain again, and the president of our beloved country is there talking about her promises and lies in her SONA. What is going on in this country today?! Let's just face it, this is the reality. Arrggh! Let's drink coffee.
